BUDAPEST: AUTHENTIC HUNGARIAN COOKING CLASS & MORNING MARKET WALK
BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
📅 Every Day
🕐4 Hours
Join us for our most popular cooking class, where we guide you through authentic Hungarian flavors on a guided market walk (for the morning class) and a hands-on, family-style cooking experience.
FoodaQuest was born right here in Budapest, originally as Foodapest, and this is where our story began. Our signature cooking tour combines a visit to the historic Central Market Hall with an intimate cooking session inside a local Budapest home, giving you a genuine taste of Hungarian food culture and hospitality.
The morning class will meet at the Central Market Hall for a guided morning walk through its vibrant stalls. As we explore, you’ll learn about Hungarian history, cuisine, and local culture while sampling classic regional bites along the way. The 16:30 evening session skips the market portion, as the Central Market Hall is closed in the evening.
After exploring the market, we’ll head over to our neighborhood apartment. Before rolling up your sleeves, enjoy a delicious welcome spread of traditional Hungarian snacks: artisan sausages, cured salamis, homemade dips, and local cheeses.
Then, it’s time to get cooking! Guided step-by-step by your local host, you’ll prepare two traditional Hungarian dishes from scratch. Of course, no true Hungarian cooking session is complete without good stories, regional wine, and a pour of local Pálinka.
We’ll conclude the experience with a sit-down family meal, new culinary skills, and a special vintage postcard souvenir to take home.
**We can cater to any dietary requirements, including vegetarian or gluten-free!
